Mix It Up Coiling on a Gourd

Learn to use several weaving techniques to create a piece of art. On a hard-shell gourd, you’ll combine knotless netting, couching, beading, and open/closed coiling. With these techniques, you can create simple or elaborate weaving. You will be able to choose from several color combinations of painted, pre-finished gourds, hand-dyed cord, thread, and beads. You don’t need to know how to weave to take this class. Students may want to bring a sack lunch for this all day class. Bring these if you have them: drill, awl, scissors, pencil, apron. Tools may be available to borrow during class.
