ABOUT ABOUT

If you've ever felt frustrated that your garden plants struggle no matter what you do, this workshop is for you! Cultivating happy plants is both a science and art, and it starts with a few basic rules of plant health. Learn the ropes from the Idaho Plant Doctor in this engaging 1-hour introduction to horticulture. Avoid common mistakes before you make them and set your plants up for a long life! You'll come away with strategies for success, early warning signs when something is wrong, and how to intervene. Taught by Sierra Laverty, Plant Health Consultant, Garden Coach, and Certified Plant Diagnostician.

Sierra Laverty is a 6th-generation Idahoan and a professional horticulturist. She received a B.S. in Horticulture from Oregon State University and is now a Masters of Science in Entomology candidate. As a natural-born learner, Sierra's philosophy is to use science to care for plants in the best way possible. After overseeing the pest management and horticulture volunteer programs at the Idaho Botanical Garden, she started Idaho Plant Doctor, a plant health consulting and garden coaching business where she's helped over 130 clients grow healthier plants since 2020.
